Getting It Right

Getting it right is a long, grueling process. But that’s what Beta testing is for. It’s not easy being told something you created needs work, but we listen to you and we go back to the drawing board. Each time we try to get better, and better, and better. We still have our work cut out for us, but judging by our metrics, we’re starting to get it right. Keep telling us your feedback, suggestions, and criticisms. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and together we’re building something truly great. Thank you for being part of our community.

NEW Streamup Features & Plans

Amazing news friends! We have some important announcements that will benefit you as broadcasters and viewers on Streamup, and we’d love to hear your feedback. One of our goals is to allow everyone the ability to generate revenue through streaming. We’d also like to make sure that you have every tool at your disposal to succeed as a streamer. Here are a few features we’ll be working on. We’d love to hear your feedback!

Monetization – You will be able to monetize your stream through a subscription program and a built-in tip button. Streamup Beta broadcasters will have an elevated revenue share compared to users that are active once we’ve fully launched. We wanted to give all of the amazing broadcasters on the site an extra thank you for their work and feedback.

Video Quality Options – We know this is vital for broadcasters and viewers because not everyone has the fastest Internet on the market. We’re working to bring this video transcoding to everyone that streams, not just partners and affiliates. This means if you were to create a new account and start streaming that day, you’d have quality options for any viewers that were interested in stopping by.

Mobile – We’ve heard your pleas for mobile and we know it’s extremely important, so this is at the top of our to-do list. If you’d like to watch Streamup while on mobile before our app is out, you can check out Photon Browser. It’s a free download on Android phones ($3.99 on iPhone) and is flash-enabled. Any flash-enabled browser will work though.

We’re glad to have you on the site as broadcasters and/or viewers and we’re here to make this community and site everything you guys want it to be. So spread the word and leave feedback if you’d like to see something added, removed, or changed, because we’re always listening.

Streamup Mentioned in Variety

Streamup just got mentioned in Variety!

Yet while Twitch spent all of its resources turning itself into a popular brand with gamers, Ustream has focused on finding a far larger audience — usually more than 80 million viewers in a month, far more than the 50 million gamers that logged onto Twitch in July — namely clients looking to get the word out about a product or service whether it’s to their consumers at trade shows or employees through internal presentations.

But as it does mature, that will only increase the value of the companies that appear to be at the forefront.

In addition to Ustream, there’s Newtek Tricaster, Livestream, Monetize Media, Bit TV, Streamup, BlogTV and Kyte.
